Planning is afoot to help the kids and parents with seminars pertaining to strokes in children, theme park visits and swimming vests.
The theme park visit speaks for itself. DORIC go mob-handed with the SCHAKI families and support the parents by taking the strain away from them for a few hours by entertaining the kids. Feed them full of sugar and hand them back…….maybe not.
Swim vests. I questioned this at first but after thinking about it, it makes perfect sense. If a child is unfortunate enough to have to use a wheelchair, a life vest in water, gives you a feeling of weightlessness and brings a new dimension to how the parents can interact with their young one. That can only bee good for both parties.
Seminars. Various experts in the field of Medicine related to strokes in children give seminars. Unfortunately, these are not always in our local area. For parents new to SCHAKI its a must that they attend. If DORIC can help in any way, we will.
